The teaching
You're eating. But you're not being fed.
Devarim, Parshat Eikev: man does not live by bread alone, but by everything that comes from God's mouth. We read this as metaphor. It isn't.
Food consumed in tension doesn't nourish. The body stays defended. Something essential can't get through.
In zhan zhuang, we practice total release — shoulders drop, jaw softens, the nervous system opens. That opening is what Moshe is pointing to. Not different food. A different quality of receiving.
Before your next meal, three breaths. Shoulders down. Jaw soft. Then eat.
That's when bread becomes everything.
