The teaching
In Vayeitzei, Yaakov's ladder — the angels descend first.
Bereishit shows them going down before rising. The low place isn't a detour. It's where the ladder touches earth.
In tai chi, this is sung — the deliberate release downward. Soften the joints. Let your weight pour through the legs. Stop fighting gravity. Only from that settled depth can authentic power rise.
Yaakov was fleeing, exhausted, his head on a stone. And Hashem met him there. Not at the summit. At the ground.
Plant your feet. Bend your knees. Let your weight sink into the earth.
Just root. That's where it begins.
