God's threefold blessing through the Kohanim (priests) - balance, calm presence and peace

Parshat Naso carries one of the most beautiful passages in all of Torah β€” the threefold priestly blessing. Body: rooted and protected. Heart: warm, calm, gracious light. Spirit: true peace, alignment with self, nature, and others. Tai Chi moves through all three β€” every single practice. πŸ•ŠοΈ

The teaching

In this week's To-ra portion of Na-So, we receive the threefold blessing of the Kohanim β€” the priests. Let's see how the blessing is echoed in Tai Chi practice.

First they say β€” May God bless and guard you. The BODY is rooted and protected... creating balance and inner stability.

The Second blessing is May God shine his face on you and be gracious. This is like the cultivation of Chi in the HEART. Warm light, and calm from within.

And the third blessing β€” May God lift his face to you and grant you peace. Tai Chi's highest aim is alignment between self, nature, and others... tranquility and wholeness of SPIRIT.

So the Kohanim remind us: peace is a divinely inspired goal each day β€” through a healthy body, heart, and spirit. Learn more, at Tora Tai Chi, dot com.
